“Le Musée carton” (Cardboard Museum) of Augustin Rebetez

From “The Night of Museums” to an auction sale

At the request of the Board of Directors of PLATFORME 10, Augustin Rebetez created an installation retracing with humor and derision the swiss history of art. Inviting visitors to enter an imaginary museum made of fake spaces and creations, “Le Musée carton” ingeniously decomposes the mediums and offers a jubilant interpretation of the artistic practices.

The installation represented the new arts district during the 17th edition of La Nuit des Musées Lausanne – Pully (The Night of Museums and welcomed around 3000 visitors. After the salon artgenève 2016 and the Rencontres d’Arles 2016, Lausanne was the third and final opportunity for the public to discover the piece as it has been literally torn to pieces and sold at public auctions on Wednesday 27 September.
